Lemonheads

Unearthed my album of The Lemonheads’ most recent release in 2009 called Varshons – a studio album of covers.

The group became popular in 1992 with It’s A Shame About Ray, the title track of the album.

But the release of Mrs. Robinson’s cover boosted the sales further.

Some 17 years later, the group covered Christina Aguilera’s Beautiful written by Linda Perry of the 4 Non Blondes that produced the mid 1990s hit What’s Up.

Listening to Varshons gave me the impression that The Lemonheads is a cross between Leonard Cohen and Kenny Rogers at one point in the first half of the album and an alt rock artist in the latter part. Of course not knowing this is an album of covers in which one LC song was included. I’ll refer to wiki later after to dig deeper on the band. Thought Beautiful was a bonus track. Nice album.
