A little overdose of The Boss is not bad this weekend. This is a definitive documentary of the making of a definitive album Born To Run. That was a make or break for Bruce Springsteen after at least two critically acclaimed, but commercially flop albums. Had the company given up on him if his next project then bombed, then it would be difficult to imagine Bruce doing Darkness On The Edge of Town, The River, Nebraska, Born In The USA and his massive five-LP live sets.
I have this in the box set of CDs and bonus DVD. Now, I am watching The Promise: The Making of Darkness On The Edge Of Town documentary, which is equally long and full of very interesting video footage taken at that time.
