Sgt. Pepper’s Musical Revolution

Got to download and watch It Was 25 Years Ago Today accompanied by the promotional videos of Strawberry Fields Forever, Penny Lane and A Day In The Life last weekend.

The feeling was great. I had a digital copy of that commemorative documentary, but converted from VHS format. I understand that this disc goes with the five other CDs that constitute the deluxe edition of Sgt. Pepper recently released.

But I was expecting more and I always had the hunch that BBC will not disappoint. And true enough, it didn’t. Howard Goodall came out with an hour long Sgt. Pepper’s Musical Revolution that just gave the album, for its 50th birthday, the attention it deserves.

Then Geoff Emerick recalls recording the album 50 years ago.

A perfect tribute!
